You do not need a perfect day. You need a decent week.

Focushours is a free, local-first focus timer and hour tracker that counts your week, not just your day. Weeks stack into streaks, trends, and goals, so the work you did last month is still there when you look.

Start 25 min in the app

This runs in the page. Nothing is logged here, and the app starts a fresh session.

One rough day, one day off, and the week still adds up to 10h 30m.

Daily goals break. Weekly goals bend.

Judge focus one day at a time and one bad day reads as failure. By Thursday the streak is dead and the app is abandoned.

Focushours counts your week instead. Seven days share the load, a rough Tuesday is absorbed by a strong Friday, and the streak keeps counting straight across Monday instead of resetting with the calendar.

Three steps, no setup

  1. 1

    Press start

Countdown or stopwatch, or type hours in by hand. Everything lands in the same week.

  2. 2

    Watch the week fill up

Each session lands on the day it finishes. Per-day targets show pace, not verdicts.

  3. 3

Close the week, keep the streak

Monday opens a fresh page. Closed weeks stack up in History and feed your trends and goals.

Everything a week needs, nothing it does not

The timer is the easy part. Zero is where the app starts working: the finished session becomes hours, moves the week total, counts against a per-day target, feeds a streak that does not reset on Monday, counts toward a monthly or yearly hour goal, and lands in a week card that stays in your history.

Who it is for

People whose work is measured in hours put in rather than tasks ticked off: studying for something long, writing, practicing an instrument, building a side project, billing your own time. It suits anyone who has a rough weekly number in their head and no honest way to check it.

It is not a team tool. There is no shared board, no manager view, and nothing to send anyone. One person, one week, one record, and nobody else can see it.

Your hours are yours

Everything you log lives in your browser, on your device. The tracker is fully functional without an account, and what you log never leaves your device unless you sign in to sync it.

Want a backup or a second device? Sign in, and your weeks sync through the app’s own database. The browser itself enforces that promise: a Content Security Policy allows exactly two destinations besides this site itself, sync and anonymous analytics, and nothing else.

Analytics are cookieless and anonymous. No identifier survives closing the tab, and your hours, notes and categories are never part of an event.

Questions, answered plainly

Is Focushours free?

Yes. There is no paid tier, no trial, and no locked feature.

Do I need an account?

No. The tracker is fully functional without one. An account exists only to back up your weeks and sync them to another device, and you can add one later at any time.

Is there an iPhone or Android app?

There is one app and it runs in the browser, so nothing has to be downloaded to use it. On a phone you can add it to your home screen, where it opens full screen and works offline. One thing worth knowing on iPhone: a home screen app gets its own private storage, so it opens empty even if you have hours in Safari. They are not lost, they are still in Safari. Sign in first and both see the same weeks.

Is this a pomodoro timer?

You can use the app as one. Presets run from 15 minutes to two hours, you can type any length from 1 to 600 minutes, run a stopwatch when you do not know how long you will go, and a 5 or 10 minute break is offered when a session ends. The difference is what happens after: a finished session becomes hours on a real day, in a week you can still read months later.

What if I forget to start the timer?

Type the hours in. Every day takes hours by hand in whatever format you think in: 1.5, 1:30, 1h30m, or 90m. A typed hour counts exactly like a timed one.

Do I have to set targets?

No. You can log hours with no targets at all. A target is what unlocks pace, streaks, how often you reach it, and trends, and you set one per day per category. If you would rather not guess, the app can suggest targets from your own past weeks.

Does the streak reset on Monday?

No. The streak counts days you reached your target and it carries straight across Monday. Days off, away days, and days with no target are skipped rather than counted as misses, and a day you have not finished yet can never break it.

What happens when the week ends?

Monday opens a fresh week. The finished one is filed into History as a single card, and it feeds your streaks, trends, and goals from then on.

Where is my data stored?

In your browser’s local storage, on your device. If you sign in, your weeks also sync to the app’s own database so a second device can pick them up, and nothing is sent anywhere else. Reset clears your weeks, and the synced copies with them when you are signed in, while keeping one local backup so an accidental reset can be undone. Delete account removes your account and every synced week from the server immediately.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Install it or just open it once, and it starts without a connection. Timers, logging, and history all work offline, and sync catches up when you are back online.
